Advanced Art

Students will learn to self expresses through color by creating an interpretive pastel self portrait. We will be discussing the importance of what an artist reveals about themselves, as well as an exercise in character depiction. This weekly 2-hour class is a great option for kids looking to move ahead with their artistic talents. The students are given more independence and freedom to be creative with the projects. Projects often run for 3-4 weeks to give students the extra time to create a really impressive piece. Recommended for ages 10 and up. Dress for a mess! We often work with acrylic paints and oil pastels, which can be very difficult to remove from clothing. If you purchase an apron with us, you can leave it with us each week or take home. Please dress for a mess to enable your child to fully enjoy the creative experience.
