There I performed in numerous symphonic organizations including the New York City All City high school orchestra, the Cosmopolitan Symphony, the New York Youth Symphony, the Lynn Oliver Big Band, the Goldman Band concerts in Central and Prospect Park. Radio City Music Hall, Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. After high school, I was admitted to the New England Conservatory of Music. My trumpet teacher was Roger Voisin, first trumpet of the Boston Symphony. I graduated in 1971 with a Bachelors of Music in Performance Degree. While at New England Conservatory, I performed with all the student orchestras, the Jazz Band, the Wind Ensemble, and dozens of other performing organizations around the Boston area. I also taught private students in the Weston, Bedford, and Newton Massachusetts school systems with fantastic results. Many of my students are playing in well-known performing organizations. I also spent time playing professionally on the road with the Pennsylvania Ballet Company and Philadelphia Opera Company on National Tours. After graduating from New England, I played Broadway shows in the Boston theaters, was on the road for national tours with the O’Jays, the Temptations, Gladys Knight, and Dionne Warwick! I performed at the Newport Jazz Festival and the Kool Jazz Festivals with many concerts in stadium-sized venues like the Superdome, the Astrodome, LA Coliseum, River Front Stadium and similar venues across the US. During thistime, I was also a busy studio musician with dozens of recording sessions. As an arranger, I participated in the recording of albums for Eddie Kendricks of the Temptations, alto saxophone legend Lou Donaldson, tenor sax player Willis Jackson, the multi-platinum RB group Brass Construction, for which I received a gold album for arranging and playing. I worked similarly with funk group Cameo, and both albums reached the gold status. I was a voting member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, better known as NARAS and voted on the grammy selection process. I continued my trumpet education with lessons from many very well-known trumpet players and teachers from all over the country, so I completely understand the different methodology necessary to teach the instrument correctly with fantastic results. Formal Education: New England Conservatory of Music,High School of Performing Arts Private Education: Studies with numerous major symphony, first chair players. Performing Experience: Many years of touring, recording and performing with Pennsylvania Ballet Company, Newport Jazz Festival, Kool Jazz Festival, OJays, Temptations, Commodores, Cameo, Brass Construction and many other gold and platinum recording artists.
