I have experience teaching all ages and playing levels, and am particularly good with beginners and young students. In addition to teaching, I served for over six years as Youth Music Director for a local congregation in Bloomington, MN. In that capacity, I worked with young musicians of many diverse instruments, writing and arranging pieces to be performed for worship. Often, I taught private lessons to these same students, preparing them individually for our performances. I have also played in a number of groups and bands in the Minneapolis area, in styles from original pop, to blues covers, to praise and worship. My students will get personal attention and individualized lesson plans, without ever ignoring the fundamentals. As a teacher, I strike the difficult balance of motivating my students while equipping them with the essentials for lifelong musicianship.
