I have been a student of music for 12 years. My teaching style can best be described as positive, honest, and optimistic. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that to really truly understand music, one must learn face to face. In my lessons, you can expect to learn the basic curriculum, tips I've learned on technique, a bit of music theory, and a tiny bit of history. I like to tell my students that time is very relative, but preparing yourself as early as you can will help you succeed. My favorite thing about teaching is learning for and from my students. My favorite performance was when I was a senior in high school at the State Solo and Ensemble Competition. I played the third movement of Concerto in E Minor by Elgar--there wasn't a dry eye in the room. My students love that I know how to make things easier and help them learn faster. I primarily teach cello, but I can also teach piano. Thanks for taking a look at my profile. Hope to meet you soon! Formal Education: I have studied at St. Edward's University in Austin, TX. I was principal cellist of the SEU Orchestra for one semester, and moved over to Piano III for the Spring 2019 semester. Private Education: I have worked with Cindy Magana and Rod Maldonado on private lessons. Performing Experience: I have played in the El Paso Symphonic Youth Orchestras (EPYS and EPYO) and every year I auditioned for All-Region I made it, but my proudest year was when I was a sophomore and I made fourth chair in the symphony orchestra. I love being in orchestra; however I love playing solos. I have played the Bach Suite in G Major, Prelude and Gigue, the Elgar Cello Concerto in E Minor, Movements I and III. I do find myself having a harder time teaching those pieces, but it is really hard to convert from student to teacher when it comes to doing solos. I will do everything in my power to help you, so there is no worry! -Education- Degree: Undergraduate Studies in Marketing School: University of Texas at El Paso Dates: 2019-09 Degree: GED School: Montwood High School Dates: 2014-08
