What your child’s day will look like
Winter Semester (January-Mid March) This class is recommended for ages 12+ who have a basic knowledge of drawing, anime, and some experience with digital art. Digital Art Supplies REQUIRED. iPad with Apple Pencil preferred. Class is taught using the program Procreate for Apple iPad, which is strongly recommended. Other programs may suffice, but we cannot promise a 1:1 comparison of lessons for any other programs used. Experience in procreate preferred but not required. We will study what makes a cartoon "anime," different methods, techniques, and all the formal elements you need to create your own anime art and characters. Classes are limited in size, so sign up today!

Summer Pirkle
Instructor
Summer graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Drawing and Painting, and grew up observing her mother paint murals and faces, working in a wide range of art that eventually influenced her to explore many different styles herself. As an instructor and an artist, Summer specializes in acrylic painting of animals and nature, anime-styled cartoon illustration, and digital art. As a teacher, Summer strives to help students discover their own artistic interests and find their drive to create art. Her goal is to replace negative views of one’s own work or skills with positive thinking and the desire to experiment and grow as an artist.

So fun! I highly recommend this workshop… and any classes that look interesting! The teachers are absolutely fabulous, the atmosphere is so relaxing and comfortable and welcoming. It seems they can be an absolute beginner or have years of painting experience and you will be welcomed.

Absolutely love this class and our instructor, Summer, is absolutely amazing and I am going to use the word absolutely again as I absolutely recommend this class to either a beginner or advanced artist. Its chill, relaxed and I can't wait to go and see the ladies each week!
