About Abby

Growing up in Boone, I have always enjoyed the opportunity to get to know seniors, first realized when my Sunday school class would visit the nearby assisted living facility. I later had an undergraduate service-learning position at mea similar facility in Winston-Salem, and working in the memory care wing there showed that I enjoy working with dementia patients, although I don't have formal training in that arena. I have a master's degree from ASU in Gerontology, the study of aging, and loved my internship at the Harrill Senior Center, but have yet to find a full-time position that allows me to build the kind of relationship that in-home care affords. I understand the support that family caregivers need, and would cherish the opportunity to help and get to know another local family. Please don't hesitate to ask me any questions.
