About Abigail

I'd describe my personality as calm, cheerful, and friendly. I like tutoring because I enjoy helping students grasp difficult concepts and gain confidence in their learning. I'm seeking a part-time role to supplement my income while building teaching experience and strengthening my communication and mentoring skills. My passion for tutoring began in elementary school, when I helped a younger student improve reading comprehension, and continued in high school tutoring peers in AP classes. More recently, I've worked as a GA in the CSUN biology department. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy hiking, drawing, reading, and spending time with friends. I also have nursery experience with babies and toddlers, and a passion for supporting families and children. My skills include teaching science, reading, and literature, with clear communication and an adaptable approach tailored to each child's unique needs.
