About Addison

It was a pleasure to meet Ms. Addison. Our 8 year old ran up the stairs and informed us that “she’s here”, while we were scrambling to get ready for our Christmas party. I said, “don’t let her in until I come down”. He said, “she’s already in”. The reason I wanted to open the door to let Ms. Addison in, is because we have a 1 year old Doberman female who is both scared of everything, but also protective. Especially protective of our 2nd grader. I walked down the stairs to find Ms. Addison and the dog getting to know each other - green check mark. Introductions and pleasantries were exchanged and a few basic instructions were discussed, I asked her if she would help him with his homework and treats were awarded to the dog, by her new best friend (Ms. Addison). Pizza was ordered and we were on our way to the Christmas party - the first time we have done anything without the child, since we moved to SC. This morning I asked our 8 year old if he liked Ms. Addison. “Good”, he said. Do you want her to babysit you again? “Yes”. He keeps things simple, like Hemingway… also another green check mark. I was told that Star Wars and snuggles rounded out the evening then off to sleep. That left Ms. Addison and a Doberman staring at each other for the next couple of hours. So this morning, I asked the Doberman if she liked Ms. Addison. “Woof”, she said. I asked her if she wanted Ms. Addison to be a part of her pack from time to time. Again, “woof”. Another green check mark. I did spend a few minutes talking to Ms. Addison, before she left. I made some observations that are atypical for most people her age. She seems to have a calm, confident demeanor (the dog picked up in that long before I did); she has a solid work ethic (which infers that she probably has solid ethics and values in all the aspects of her life); she has a lot of work experience, for someone her age and she is more mature than “her peers”. Seems to me that she was raised right, understands the value of hard work and professionalism, is trustworthy and honest and all the things. I mean, 3 green check marks, a “good” and a “yes” plus 2 “woof’s”… What else do I have to say? I hope Ms. Addison is able to watch over not just our young one, but our dog, our home, our valuables, etc., in the future. It was refreshing to meet a young lady who is so polished, at her age. Not something that’s common these days. I highly recommend her and we can only hope that she will be available the next time we need “way more than” a babysitter… She deserves a raise.
