Akala was an excellent post operative caregiver for my 83 year old husband after his bladder removal surgery. For three weeks, Akala provided my husband and me with 24 hour support. Akala did laundry, changed bed linens, prepared meals, learned and then assisted with ostomy bag changes. Throughout everything, Akala made my husband feel respected, cared for, and always could be counted on making my husband laugh out loud several times a day. In addition, Akala provided me with much emotional support, validating all of my feelings and making me feel seen. This was perhaps the biggest gift of all.
