About Alexandra

Hi! I'm Alex, a current middle school teacher with a background in both English and Social Studies. I've spent the last few years teaching 8th grade at an independent school, where I focus on building strong reading, writing, and thinking skills while also helping students feel confident and supported. I specialize in working with a wide range of learners, including students with IEPs. My approach is student-centered, inclusive, and creative--I believe learning should feel meaningful and even a little fun. I've helped students strengthen everything from grammar and literary analysis to essay writing and reading comprehension. In addition to teaching, I run a Comics and Manga Club and love incorporating graphic novels and visual storytelling into literacy work. If your child needs academic support in ELA, or just someone to help them find joy and confidence in reading and writing, I'd love to help.
