Many of my jobs involved caring for children or seniors. It truly feeds my soul to just be a friend to someone. I first worked taking care of an elderly man in his home. Errands. laundry, light cleaning and companionship were part of my job. Years later, I did the same for my mom when she became too old to care for herself. Finally, working a Meals on Wheels was the last job where I worked with the disabled, elderly and needy. So many times I would just sit and talk with them. They were lonely and needed a friend.
