My first call with Alicia was great. She was home from college for the summer and was looking for work for a couple months. I needed the month of August covered and a few days in July which she agreed to. We spoke a few days before she was set to come work with us and she mentioned being sorry for her late responses as she was out of the country. No problem, she's on vacation, no big deal. We discussed the days she was set to come and she gave no indication that she would no longer be available. About 30 minutes before she was due to arrive at our house for the first time I sent her a text asking that she call or text me when she arrived so I could open the door and our dog wouldn't bark. She promptly responded that she was sorry but her mother had just texted her that she was in a car accident so she "had to go help her get things squared away". To which I responded "I am so sorry I hope she's OK. To clarify are we canceling for today or will you be late?" and I have not heard from her since. The three days she was supposed to cover have already passed and not a single word from her. I understand that plans change and things happen but she gave our family zero courtesy of a heads up. My husband and I both work full-time from home and it was a huge hit to our schedule. She sounded nice but unfortunately not dependable.
