About Althea

Hello! My name is Althea and I am a 22-year-old graduate student and future teacher. Nurturing young minds is more than a job for me; it's a passion. In the past, I've had the joy of nurturing children of all ages, from toddlers to teenagers. I earned my bachelors degree at the University of Pittsburgh where I graduated in 2025 with a major in English Literature, a minor in Secondary Education, and a certificate in Children's Literature. I am currently completing a graduate degree including a Teaching Certification and a Master's Degree in Elementary Ed at the University of Maryland. I have much experience in the English Language Arts, including reading, writing, analyzing, constructing critical theory, and creating. I prioritize clear communication and will keep you updated on your child's progress using your preferred method, whether it's a text, a phone call, an email, or another mode. I'm eager to bring my creative and friendly energy to your family and help your children thrive!
