Amanda worked with our family for two months in the summer of 2025. As first-time parents without nearby family support, reliability was especially important to us. Less than 24 hours before a scheduled shift, Amanda notified us via text that she would be stepping away from the position due to a discrepancy in hours—an issue that had not been previously communicated. While I respect her need to make decisions in her best interest, the short notice required us to cancel or reschedule commitments we had planned with the expectation of her availability. Although Amanda was kind and nurturing with our daughter, the manner in which she ended her employment lacked professionalism and fell short of what we agreed was expected for a nanny role. As a result, we would not rehire her.
