About Amanda

I'd describe my personality as upbeat, flexible, and patient. I like working with kids because they are so full of life! Children remind me of the simple joys and wonders we experience every day. I'm looking for a job that allows me to support a family in need of a little extra care. I started working with kids when I was still a kid myself. I have 6 nieces and a nephew, the first of which was born when I was only 6 years old! I grew up caring for the children in my family, babysitting in the neighborhood, and tutoring younger children before I went to college (and became a teacher). In my spare time, I like to travel (14 countries and counting!), read, bake, and spend time with friends. One thing you should know about me is that I am well versed in supporting children of all ages and developmental stages. I have been a teacher for more than 5 years, teaching both general and special education. My skills include homework help, creativity, and nearly endless patience.
