I've always been surrounded by children growing up. I have a big family and I've always babysat young cousins, nephews, etc. I babysat my neighbors as well for a long time and watched them grow up before my eyes. In college I worked with children through two organizations - Embrace Kinds and Childhood Leukemia Foundation. I was the President of Childhood Leukemia Foundation at Rutgers University. Through this organization, I attended hospital visits with children who were diagnosed with cancer. I spend time playing games and engaging in arts and crafts with them. Embrace Kids is a similar organization. My sorority sponsored a little girl who had a blood disorder. We began sponsoring her when she was 3 years old. I was a freshman in college then. S. is now 7. I've spent a lot of time with her. I visited her at the hospital while she received her blood transfusions, took her to parties and events hosted by the organization, and watched her grow up.
