I am a 25-year-old mother with a two and a half year old son. I am currently enrolled at Quinsigamond Community College in an early childhood education program. My ultimate goal is to be a preschool teacher. After QCC I plan to attend Worcester State to obtain my Bachelors Degree. However, with that being said, I would love to find another family to work for as I attend school part-time. I have always loved working and enriching the lives of young children and I have been babysitting since I was 12 years old. During my teenage years I worked as a mother's helper for a family with 3 children (ages 2, 5 and 8). I also babysat for my neighbor's grandson (age 1) for a period of about a year. Most recently, I have worked as a nanny for a wonderful family with 4 children, (ages 2, 5, 7 and 9), for the past two years. I initially worked full-time (5 days/50 hours a week) and was responsible for child care, including the care of an infant, with the youngest child being 4-months old when I started. My son was also 4-months old when I started so essentially it was like caring for twins, maintaining the cleanliness of the home, doing the children's laundry, preparing food and school lunches for the children, transportation for the children's activities, caring for the family's dog during the day and other duties as assigned. I also worked overnights during the weekend when needed. The 7-year-old has some special needs as she has ADHD, as well as some other setbacks, so I do have some experience with working with special needs children. With my school schedule I had to cut back on my hours, but still maintained the same responsibilities and extended my hours. Unfortunately, my boss was recently laid off from his job and thus was able to stay at home with the children, so my services as a nanny are no longer needed. I am currently babysitting for another family with four children, as needed, (ages 2, 5, 7 and 9). My only requirement for providing babysitting services is that my son is able to come to work with me. He has always been with me while I babysat and he is a very sweet little boy. I'm looking for a family that will be warm and friendly towards me and my son and who I can build a positive relationship with while I care for their children. I am looking for a job with a fairly consistent schedule and once I graduate from school in May I will be available primarily full-time.
