About Angela

A little about me: I am a former elementary education teacher and (current) writer. I have over 15 years of experience working with emergent learners (including general and special education students). I taught using a Common Core curriculum for five years, but am a constructivist at heart. I have a Master of Science in Education with a focus on elementary education and emergent literacy (phonics, decoding, writing, etc.). I also hold a Master of Fine Arts in English/Creative Writing. At the moment I am a full-time creative, balancing being a children's book author/editor, freelancing, and teaching. UPDATED SUMMER SCHEDULE - available AMS MON- Friday. We needed help with our 2nd grade, 7 year old twins who were participating in distant learning. Ms. Angela responded within minutes of my email to her and agreed to come over and meet us. She arrived at the agreed upon time, was wearing a mask and maintained social distance. Our twins took to her and we hired her. She was always prompt, communicative and helped our twins stay connected when it was quite challenging. I observed her teaching them skills specific to writing paragraphs as well as reading. Little tricks and tools that stuck with them. You know when your child says they like someone because they help them to understand the work- that person is a keeper. We highly recommended her.
