Experience: 4 yrs
I'm aniela a current student at Illinois State University and majoring in social work. In high-school I completed all levels of education classes that gave me lots of hands on experience. I student taught sophomore year in a preschool class, junior year in a 3rd grade class and senior year in a kindergarten class. I also took a special education course at Elmhurst University. I have been around kids my whole life and have lots of experience watching my 5-year-old brother. I also babysat for a 7-year-old girl last year where I would help her with school work and bake! I love to do fun activities or crafts with children, but also ensure they will always be learning something new daily. I am willing to clean while babysitting and I have a passion for cooking/baking so preparing meals is something I enjoy. I am also CPR certified. Lastly I have my drivers license and a reliable vehicle so I can drive children to activities or school.
Aniela has truly been such an asset to our family! She has been taking care of my son for the last four years, since the age of one. At that time, he had still not said his first words and was soon diagnosed with sensory processing disorder. He would get overwhelmed easily with sounds, textures, crowds, new environments and needed therapy to assist with these needs. Aniela was on board from day one with implementing the strategies from early interventions. She has been like a big sister and mother figure to him, meeting him where he’s at and helping him get to where he needs to be. She has been patient, loving, creative & structured with him and just so beyond her years in working with children. He would seek her out when he was having a rough time and she would redirect him with activities that were calming and interesting to him. In addition, she was able to create meals that met his texture needs that were nutritious and that he also enjoyed. She was also confident in bathing, getting him ready for bed, and waking him up as needed. I would recommend Aniela to any family in need of support for their child. Not only as a wonderful caregiver, but as a wonderful person!
