Hi! I am looking for babysitting opportunities: People call me "X" (short for "Xiao") I'm 28 years old with a degree in Sociology and Business. I've been nannying for 3 years and prior to nannying, I taught Social Emotional Learning through Games and Play with Elementary students at Boston Public Schools full-time. I have extensive background working in childcare with children typically 12 and under, such as Boys and Girls Club, the YMCA, summer camps, food programs, a family shelter, nannying, tutoring, and various after school and in-school programs. I genuinely enjoy spending time with children and hold sacred the ways we grow and learn together. I am compassionate, patient, inclusive, outdoorsy, community-oriented, and most importantly FUN!!! I look for families with similar qualities. I am fully vaccinated and ask that those eligible in the household are as well. I am happy to answer any questions/ provide a resume/ references upon request
X nannied for our daughter for about 2 years (from 9 months to 2.5 years of age), and during that time she truly became part of our family. X is playful, patient, and kind, and she engages children in thoughtful, developmentally appropriate activities. She regularly took to the library, parks, and community programs, encouraging learning, curiosity, and socialization. Importantly, X respected our wishes as parents and kept on a healthy routine and schedule- from meals and naps to bedtime - while communicating clearly and aligning with us on decisions. X also prioritized safety at all times (for example, ensuring stayed seated while eating and avoiding choking hazards, supervising closely at playgrounds, and practicing safe street‑crossing and proper car‑seat use). She actively supported milestone development and transitions, reinforcing new skills and easing changes in routine with gentle, consistent guidance (e.g., adjusting nap schedules, introducing new foods, and encouraging age‑appropriate independence). X is consistently punctual and reliable. We always felt confident knowing was in her care. Beyond all of this, has so much fun with X and absolutely adores her, and we are profoundly grateful to have had X care for our daughter during such a critical time in her development. In short, X is a trustworthy, warm, and professional caregiver -- Any family would be lucky to have her, and we couldn’t recommend her more highly.
