I am currently looking for part time and per diem work as a caregiver. My past experience with the elderly was as a Companion at an assisted living facility. While in graduate school I also did a rotation on a Skilled Nursing Unit at Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital. I enjoyed both of those experiences. My career in social work, however, focused on children and adolescents in various milieu's. Recently, I helped my mother care for my father while he aged in his own home. I loved helping him to remain as independent as possible while supervising ADL's, taking him to visit friends, doctor appointments, errands, and other activities. Currently, I am a property manager for me and my husband's real estate investment company. I find this work flexible, and I have hours that I can fill in a caregiving role. I miss working in direct care service.
