About Astrid

Hi, I'm Astrid! Thanks for visiting my profile. I just moved to Philadelphia for my last semester of occupational therapy training. Previously, I lived in North Carolina, where I studied psychology and education at Duke before returning there for my OT degree. In college, I babysat 11 wonderful children ages 9 months to 9 years (though they're now older), and I'm beyond fortunate to continue my relationships with these families today. Moreover, this experience served as the inspiration and foundation for my goal to become an occupational therapist. My approach to childcare is very child-centered, which, as other parents have noted, makes me very patient and flexible. Learning through play, trial and error, changing plans, having no plans at all-so long as your child is happy, I am too! I'm CPR/first aid certified and have experience with children with autism, ADHD, hearing impairment, and other cognitive/behavioral differences. Thanks for reading; I hope to hear from you soon!
