About Austin

Hi I'm Austin! Ive worked with children for 17 years primarily as a development therapist and tutor. I specialize in 1:1 and group teaching to children and teens who are neurodivergent and require accommodating teaching strategies. I have been an English teacher in Spain in 2011, México in 2015, and San Diego in 2022. When COVID hit, parents hired me to assist their kids in home or zoom school. This became my speciality throughout the pandemic. I had 5 students age 3-12. In 2024, I worked with a 5th grade boy with all Ds. He had ADHD and emotion regulation issues. So I helped him with his school work, taught him coping skills and used techniques to build his confidence. 4 months later he had all As and Bs! In the last year, I've tutored 5 students, spending the most time with a 15-year-old boy with autism and depression in the same manner to bring his failing grades up to all A's and B's. I'm currently working on my Masters to become a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
