About Ava

I'd describe my personality as kind, patient, and caring. I like working with kids because having a positive role model as a kid is so important for how kids grow up to treat others and how they see themselves. I love how kids love to have fun and play and be creative! I'm looking for a job that aligns with my school schedule, that is part time and allows me to continue to work with kids! I started working with kids when I was 19 years old, I am 23 now! In my spare time, I like to spend time with my friends and family, go on walks with my dad's dog, and go swing dancing when I can! I have worked with kids with developmental disabilities including autism spectrum disorder and Down's syndrome. I keep positive relationships with former students and their families. I have provided academic support, toileting, teaching emotional regulation and social skills. My skills include patience, meeting kids where they are, and encouraging kids to feel empowered to share their needs.
