About Barbara

Aside from helping out with my 9 nieces and nephews, I started working with kids professionally in 2008. In my career I have worked with children from 18 months old to high school, but I spent the majority teaching elementary school abroad, from first up to sixth grades. As I felt most fulfilled helping kids with social and emotional skills, I quit my role as teacher and head of department and recently completed grad school as a mental health counselor experienced in play therapy. I have worked in daycares, in tutoring, and as a youth mentor aside from teaching. I am currently seeking short term work as I look for a job in counseling. I'd describe my personality as kind, firm, and easygoing. In my spare time, I like to cook, embroider, be in nature, and listen/watch/read stories both fiction and nonfiction.
