About Betty

You should give Betty a chance. She will bless your loved one and your family as she blessed my mother and us. Betty cared for my mother (in my home, which my mother shared) for several months until my mother's passing, and she was wonderful! Betty wanted to keep busy when she was not engaged with my mother, so she would do helpful things around the house for me, like laundry and dishes. She was sweet and caring, and very tuned-in to the way my mother was feeling and what her needs were. Betty took care of her meals and all her needs during the work day. My mother loved people, and loved talking to people. Sometimes Betty and my mother would just spend time talking, 20 minutes or 2 hours, it didn't matter, because my mother loved sharing her life with others and getting to share in the lives of others, as well. So talking and listening was just another way Betty cared for my mother. Betty also helped my mother be active in hobbies she was still able to enjoy. In time, she and my mother grew to love each other. When my mother could no longer leave her bed, Betty's knowledge from her years as a CNA with hospice was a gift to our family. Not only did Betty care for all my mother's needs, she taught us ways we could care for her when Betty wasn't around. Betty taught us changes we could make to my mother's bedroom to make caring for her easier, taught us how to be able to move her in the bed with less effort, and taught us many more things.
