There aren't enough stars!! Bonnie began her relationship with my 91 year old father as a companion. She saw his instability and significant memory issues as an invitation to keep dad active and mentally engaged, planning field trips, playing games and enlisting his help with chores. Her ability to persuade rather than direct and respectful demeanor became the foundation of a deep friendship that tested Bonnie's flexibility daily as dad's health declined and the caregiver role became the priority. For more than two years Bonnie developed a daily schedule that supported dad's changing mental and physical well being. She did the shopping, cooked his meals, respectfully provided personal grooming support and even brought her puppy to visit to lift dad's spirits. Our goal was to keep dad in his own home as his health waned. Bonnie's selfless dedication as a caregiver allowed us to give him that gift.
