I'd describe my personality as approachable and empathetic, and I like to lead with humor. I like tutoring because I get the share in the excitement of that "eureka!" moment when a concept clicks for my student. I started tutoring during undergrad in 2017, when I worked as an instructor over the summer for iD Tech summer camps. I also volunteered at Lincoln High School in Tacoma in AP coding courses. I then started working as a tutor for the computer science department at my university. Finally, I continued working as a private tutor adjacent to my engineering career after graduating. My skills include programming, math, French (learned while living in France), Japanese, and game design. I will also instill good time and project management skills, showing students how to keep track of their tasks while working towards a long term goal. I scored a 34 on my ACT, so I'm confident I can help your student with test prep too.

Bret is an Incredible Teacher and Mentor. Bret has been teaching my 13 year old son coding since he was 8. In these 5 years, my son became passionate for anything Coding. They started with basic Scratch coding. Then turned to learning Python which is one of the de-facto science and engineering coding language. And per my son request, they got into developing a Roblox game in Luau that they are launching today into testing. In that process, my son has learned about business skills related to understanding the target market and launching a game. My 13-year-old son now has the building blocks and passion to be successful in the technology world we live in. These would not have happened without Bret’s remarkable talent, dedication, and passion for teaching.
