About Candace

With over a decade of experience as a special education teacher and school literacy interventionist, my methods are research-based, systematic and multi-sensory. I specialize in working with students struggling in reading and writing who've been identified with Dyslexia or Dysgraphia and who are working to close their literacy achievement gap at school. Alongside my classroom teaching career, I've been tutoring for 15 years, so I enjoy the opportunity to work 1:1 with students watching them progress and develop into confident and self-motivated readers. We have fun while learning. We take brain breaks during the tutoring session for optimal retention and focus, and we practice skills with enough repetition that they can transfer into the classroom setting. I'm licensed through the Colorado Department of Education as a Special Education Teacher K-12. Starting on June 1, 2023, I'll many more tutoring slots open up.
