About Carissa

My name is Carissa! I earned my B. A. in Psychology with a minor in History from Wayne State University. Since August 2024, I've worked as a tutor and mentor in the Psychology Department at Wayne State, helping students understand material in accessible, supportive ways. I've developed strong skills in study strategies, academic coaching, and breaking down complex topics. As someone with ADHD, I understand the frustration of learning in environments that don't always support neurodivergent students. That experience drives me to meet students where they are, build their confidence, and help them find what works for them. I'm passionate about creating a positive, empowering learning space.
