About Carissa

Hi! I'm glad you're here. During my time at Ohio University, I spent 3 years as an English / Writing tutor at the Academic Achievement Center for both undergraduate and graduate students of all majors and disciplines. In addition, I became a lead tutor my senior year, engaging with new tutors on how to better equip students with the necessary skills to improve the flow and professionalism of papers in order to achieve the highest grade possible. I have years of experience substitute teaching grades K through 12, and coaching basketball at the elementary through high school levels. My Bachelor's is in Psychology, and I am now back in school for Nursing. I also have experience working with children who have special behavioral and emotional needs, and am comfortable employing the necessary interventions to ensure the best quality of learning for them! I'm extremely active, creative, prefer structure, and exploring a student's strengths and weaknesses to promote success and confidence.
