About Carla

Hello! My name is Carla. I am currently working toward a nursing degree and work as a midwife's birth assistant. I have a Bachelor's degree in Social Work with a minor in Early Childhood Development. My approach in working with children is rooted in creating a safe container for exploration, growth, making mistakes and learning through experience. I place a strong emphasis on attunement, emotional intelligence, and communication. Equally important, I believe in bringing out the silly and learning through play. I've worked in ABA with children on the autism spectrum and developmental delays, as a daycare teacher, wilderness therapy field guide, outdoor education instructor, and recently nannied a sweet 1-year-old (now 2!) for a year. I love providing hands-on experiences, outdoor exploration, and minimal to no screen time. In my free time I enjoy playing music, doing yoga, getting outside, and sharing good food with friends!
