About Carlos

I am an Academic Counselor at HCCC with a strong background in education, student development, and academic support. I work closely with a large caseload of college students, providing personalized guidance to improve study habits, organization, time management, and overall academic performance. I also teach a College Student Success course, helping first-year students build confidence and essential learning skills. Prior to my counseling role, I spent several years in K-12 education as a Math Teacher, Team Lead, and Assistant Principal. My classroom experience allows me to break down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps while adapting to different learning styles and skill levels. My tutoring approach is patient, structured, and supportive. I focus on building understanding, confidence, and strong academic habits that lead to long-term success.
