About Carolyn

I'm retired after 30 years in the biotechnology and basic research fields. I've been tutoring part time for the last five years, three years as a learning center employee and two years as an independent tutor. I work with children grades 3 through 8 in reading, writing, science and math and grades 9 through 12 in reading, writing and biology. I also have significant experience preparing students for the reading/writing test in the SAT and ACT. I have taught ESOL to a refugee family. I work closely with parents and the student to assess the student's learning strengths and specific challenges, and I design the curriculum and my approach accordingly. I have a focused and compassionate approach and create a relaxed and enjoyable learning environment.
