Prior to becoming a caregiver, I was a Cosmetologist and a Cosmetology teacher. I have always loved working with people. I cared for a lady who had a rare neurological disease called cortical basal degeneration. It is so rare that they had no set treatment for it. She was dependent on me for everything such as dressing, bathing, and feeding. I also assisted her in the bathroom. She could not swallow and had a G-tube. Being a cosmetologist I also did her hair for her. I cared for a young man who has severe cerebral palsy due to brain damage. He had a G-tube. He had mild to severe seizures. I cared for a lady who had a major stroke, diabetes, and heart disease. She was very much dependent on me to do everything for her also. I cared for a sweet lady with MS for 6 years. I currently cared for a couple. Both had dementia. She was diabetic, and had an ostomy bag. I am well versed in changing ostomy bags and wound care also. I have a lot of experience with different medical conditions.
