Experience: 6 yrs
Christian, Veteran, Single Mother and Cancer Survivor. Served 20+ years in USAF and healthcare field. Helped care for my grandmother for many years; passed in 2019 at 104 yo. Joined caregiver workforce as a way to continue serving in my community. I have great compassion for the elderly. I believe they should be treated w/ respect and dignity regardless of their age and/or disability. Rest assured, if given the opportunity to care for your loved one, they would be treated w/ compassionate care as I would my own. My goal is their safety and assisting them w/ daily life activities so they can continue to thrive comfortably and independently as possible. My current schedule allows me flexibility to work directly w/ clients in the comfort of their own home. Non-smoker. References available upon request. Clients I have worked with: Dementia/Alzheimer's clients, paraplegics, autistic young and older adults, and aging seniors. CPR(Adult/Child/Infant)+AED+First Aid Expires: 4/24/2026
I hired Charina to help care for my elderly father when he had to stop driving. Charina cheerfully and compassionately entered into a difficult environment and did a fantastic job. She lifted his spirits, helped figure out why he'd been losing a shocking amount of weight, and turn so much of his decline around. I needed her to proactively look out for his best interests and she did, in more ways that I'd hoped for. She identified needs on her own and addressed them professionally and creatively, and kept me fully informed throughout. On her first day she got him scheduled for a much-needed shave and a haircut with zero prompting from me, and in spite of his mobility challenges, had him outside (I did request that), visiting his old favorite breakfast places, spending time in parks, and within days he was transformed from an obvious state of decline to an upbeat, stronger, happier level that was undeniably a marvel to behold. When I last saw him before her first visit, I feared I might not ever see him alive again. But when I returned one week after Charina began working, I completely forgot what had happened before. He seemed happier, more upbeat, he sounded stronger - she'd been ensuring he ate and adjusted his diet to softer foods which made a huge difference for the better. He was in remarkably much better shape. I cannot stress enough how much I credit Charina with all of this. Both I and another family member told each other that we'd feared we'd seen the last of my father just before Charina started. But nobody was even thinking that way after one week of her services. I fully believe she extended his life in the best of most beautiful of ways, I am not exaggerating this. And along the way, as a huge, unexpected bonus, she captured family stories for me that even I was unaware of. You would be blessed beyond measure to get her services. "Highly recommended" doesn't seem to be enough of a recommendation for Charina but I can't think of anything better to say here. She is, quite simply, the best. I can't imagine anyone better.
