About Chelsea

I have extensive experience working as an art teacher with children and teens, supporting skill-building, creative confidence, and individualized learning. As a licensed visual arts teacher, I help students develop foundational techniques while encouraging curiosity, experimentation, and personal expression. I adapt lessons to each student's interests, learning style, and comfort level, whether they are just beginning or building a portfolio. My tutoring work can includes homework support, project planning, portfolio development, college portfolio prep, and guidance through creative blocks. I focus on creating a low-pressure, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and taking creative risks. I'm patient, encouraging, and attentive, and I enjoy helping students gain confidence not only in their artwork, but in presenting and talking about their ideas. I strive to meet each student where they are while helping them grow.
