We hired Chinelo to help with our twins’ bath and bedtime routine after daycare, as both my husband and I have demanding jobs that often require travel. The babies didn’t take to her right away, likely because she was only seeing them after long, stimulating days. We asked several times if she could spend a few hours with them during the day to help them get used to her. She repeatedly said she’d get back to us, but never followed through. In the meantime, we had her help with bottles, formula, and light cleaning. We also asked her to prep lunches for the next day, though that didn’t seem to be her strength. When she vacuumed, it wasn’t very thorough, and she wasn’t proactive in finding additional tasks to fill the full hour. She was responsive when I texted her about payment, but when I followed up again about spending more daytime with the kids, she didn’t reply. Eventually, she told us she didn’t have time—even on weekends for just an hour or two in the mornings. Overall, she wasn’t very engaged or interested in getting to know the children, which is very important to us in a caretaker. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend her.
