I worked for many years in a hospital setting. I was in a position to speak with the various patients, and was drawn mostly to the elderly population. I cared for my own mother and father and experienced first hand what the family members and the elderly go through. I realized that some day I will also be in the position that the elderly are now in and I would like someone to care for me with the compassion and love I have for the ones I take care of. I just recently finished a position caring for a Hospice patient. I was with her for almost 11 months. I took care of her as if she were my own mother, catering to her every need and also taking care of her home. I am retired and have felt for a long time that the elderly is where my heart is.
