About Claudia

Hello! My name is Claudia. I was born in Chicago and have also lived in Skokie, Evanston, and Murcia, Spain. I have 9+ years of experience in childcare and 6+ years as a tutor. Most recently I worked as the Bilingual Lead Tutor at a District 65 school in Evanston. There, I was given about 20 students each term in 4-6th grade who performed within the 25-50th percentile on standardized tests. We focused on English, Spanish, and Math. I devoted some time to improving social and emotional learning as well as executive functioning skills related to academics. On the side I also developed curriculum for the afterschool outreach nonprofit Youth Opportunity United. 2-3 times a week I would facilitate programming with students, where we explored things like music genres and children's theater. This year I am very excited to be starting a two year Master's in Speech Language Pathology at DePaul University. I am also a part of the Spanish/English bilingual certificate program there.
