About Dawn

Although I was not professionally paid but I helped take care of my father in law up until his passing. He had MS. So over the years it had progressed and simple tasks became more difficult for him. As he didn't want to feel defeated I made sure to make him feel like I was there as a help and company and didn't want to make him feel like he wasn't capable. as it is a common feeling in elders as they get older and start to need assistance. In most cases, it's difficult for them to accept the help because it would make them feel like they've given up. So I made sure that was not the case with him. We would sit for hours chatting and I listened to all his stories and would take him places and keep him company while taking care of the required tasks like transportation, medication, meal preps. I am very patient and do find joy in helping the elder as it's the cycle of life and just like babies and little kids need assistance and patience.. so do the elder.
