About Deborah

Hi! Thanks in advance for reading my qualifications. I have a BS in Special Education. I am a retired teacher with 23 years experience. I also have ESL (English as a Second Language) certification. I love kids! I've taught both general education & special education in elementary & middle school. I tutor academics to elementary level students and ESL to all ages including adults and taught students whose first languages were either Spanish, Arabic, Hindu, Japanese, Chinese, German or French. I'm a positive/glass half full type person who is patient, loving, caring, encouraging, dependable & driven to make a difference in people's lives. In my spare time I do craft projects, play with and train my dogs. I believe all of us progress best when we receive a lot of praise, encouragement & positive reinforcement. It's important to check for understanding throughout the instruction to insure each individual's comprehension & then reteaching whenever necessary to insure success.
