About Deirdre

I'm a straight-A with a passion for learning and teaching! I have been tutoring siblings, classmates, and friends since middle school with great success! I have always genuinely enjoyed helping people succeed in an area of difficulty. I find it so rewarding when I get to experience the sigh of a relief someone expresses when he/ she finally gets the hang of a challenging topic or begins to hone in on a skill thanks to my help! As for my methods, I often like to use real-world examples or metaphors to help students grasp difficult concepts or simplify problems in a way that makes them seem less intimidating. I also find that students really benefit from my pointed questions which can get them thinking on the right track without just giving them the answer immediately. With that said, I am mindful that each student learns differently. I just want my students to understand the material, feel confident, and have success! Whatever it takes to do that, I will make it happen!
