About Destiny

We had the privilege of working with Destiny as a caregiver for my dad, who was living with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) and Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD). These diseases presented many physical and emotional challenges, and my dad could be a difficult patient at times — but Destiny handled every moment with grace, kindness, respect, and lightheartedness. My dad felt comfortable connecting with her personally, which was such a gift as he faced the emotions that come with a terminal diagnosis. He genuinely looked forward to the days Destiny was coming. She provided not just excellent care, but true companionship, making him feel seen, heard, and valued. They would watch TV and movies together, share stories from his life, and she helped him reflect on all he had accomplished. Destiny showed up for every shift, always dependable, and often offered to come early, stay late, or pick up extra days — even at the last minute if her schedule allowed. She consistently went above and beyond, whether it was light housekeeping while my dad rested, creating stretching and exercise plans to help maintain the limited mobility he still had, or simply being an attentive and calming presence in the house. As my mom and I were my dad’s primary caregivers, it had always been hard for us to step away and trust someone else — but with Destiny, we truly could. We knew he was in good hands, which allowed us to take care of other responsibilities and finally rest. She was always on time with his medications, made sure he stayed hydrated, prepared his meals, and kept him comfortable and safe. Destiny brought positive energy into a space that was often heavy. Even when my dad’s needs were nonstop, she never once showed frustration or impatience. Her compassion was genuine, and her presence meant the world to our entire family. Destiny even sat with our family in the front row at my dad’s funeral, per his own request — a testament to the deep bond and trust they shared. She was born to do this work, and any family would be lucky to have her as part of their care team. We are forever grateful for her.
