About Dorothy

We have had the pleasure of working with Dorothy for over three years, and she has truly become like part of our family—a second mom to my children. She has cared for my two younger kids—my now 7-year-old and my 4-year-old. We are extremely lucky and blessed to have her in our lives and in our children’s lives. I have complete trust in her judgment, reliability, and kindness. Dorothy is very smart and an amazing teacher, with previous experience as an elementary school teacher. She comes up with unique methods tailored to each child’s needs, always focusing on what’s best for them. She tutors my 7-year-old in reading, writing, and math, which has greatly boosted his confidence and skills. She also prepared him for private school admission and interview, ensuring he was confident, well-spoken, and ready to succeed. He has a short attention span, and Dorothy adapts her approach in a special way that allows him to stay engaged and truly learn from her—she is amazing in how she does that. She incorporates academic play, making learning fun and engaging, and includes plenty of arts and crafts that build fine motor skills, creativity, problem-solving, and other essential foundation skills for the early learning years. She also embraces child-led play and works to expand his vocabulary. With my 4-year-old, she keeps him happily engaged with activities he loves, encouraging both learning and joy. She is a warm-hearted, sincere, compassionate, and thoughtful person. She truly is loving, and our kids love her. She is warm, patient, and truly engaged, while also being highly dependable and punctual. She has been extremely helpful with school pickups and other logistical support, which has been a huge help to our family. I’m looking forward to our children spending more time with her as they grow up.
