I've been taking care of cats and dogs my entire life. I've dog-sat for my uncle a couple of times while he was on business trips. I'm also the one in my family who feeds the cats and scoops their litter box daily and dump their litter boxes and add fresh clean litter every couple weeks. One of the cats we have is a long-haired female cat that I brush every few weeks because she cleans herself extremely well. Besides the extra hair I brush and get off of her, I don't have to brush any knots or clumps out of her hair. I'll typically try to brush the other cats since they're a short-haired breeds and shed a lot. I also have had to give my cats and dogs medication several times for many different reasons.
