About Elissa

I was an elderly companionship caretaker for about 2 years during COVID times. I had multiple clients for a few months where I would do light housekeeping, running errands, bringing some to the VFW, staying at home with them for company, making sure they ate well. Most of them had dementia. I was with one client after those months for 2 years. She had Alzheimer's and started off mobile, I would help her get ready for the day such as changing, and brushing her teeth, washing her face, etc., make her lunch, help her to the bathroom, take her to the park and so on. Over the two years she sadly and rapidly declined and eventually went into hospice and became bedridden, where I would continue to care for her until she passed. After this client I switched to babysitting again, but I loved my time with my elderly clients. It brings me a ton of joy to glean from their wisdom, keep them company and take care of them!
