Liz has been watching my special needs (level 3 non-verbal autistic) 3 year old daughter for us for about 2 years now whenever we need her. My daughter loves Liz, and her face lights up when she sees Liz walk through the door! Liz is amazing at taking care of my daughter’s physical needs like preparing food/snacks and changing her diapers. Liz also occasionally plans activities and plays with my daughter very intentionally, helping her almost exactly like our speech therapist does by using descriptive language during play and celebrating any communication from our daughter. She is very neurodivergent affirming as well! We chose Liz in the beginning because I loved her experience in a sped preK classroom, and her current masters program gives her a lot of knowledge about caring for children of any ability. We keep coming back to Liz even a couple years later because she has shown us time and time again how much she cares for our daughter and is a huge support for our family.
