About Elsa

I hold Elsa in the highest esteem for her exceptional skills as a nanny and caregiver for babies and young children. Elsa cared for our daughter from the age of 3 months, to over 3 years old. From the very beginning, she demonstrated deep knowledge on how to care for and nurture an infant, managed her nap and feeding schedule; and supported the progression of developmental activities like tummy time, rolling over, gross motor skills, and early play activities. She was a calming and soothing presence to our daughter, and I felt she cared for her with the same nurturing attention and gentleness as if she was her own child. As our daughter grew, Elsa adapted their routine to include daily walks to local playgrounds and playtime both outside and indoors; she found activities in the area to bring her to each week, such as library story time, and coordinated play dates and meet ups with other nannies and babies around the same age in our neighborhood. I always knew with confidence that Elsa was keeping our daughter safe, while also supporting her social and physical development. Elsa is fluent in Spanish and English; per my request, she prioritized speaking in Spanish with our daughter -- who now has a robust foundation in Spanish language and can follow directions, and understand everything Elsa says to her! Our daughter can now proactively speak a solid list of vocabulary words in Spanish, for example when we read a picture book, I'll say the English word and daughter says the Spanish word! Elsa is an excellent communicator, which made our working relationship smooth and established lasting trust. She is proactive when it comes to problem solving or finding new solutions as a child grows and starts having new needs (i.e. transitioning to solid foods, self feeding, weaning off the bottle, potty training, etc.) Elsa is punctual, reliable and respectful. She asks the important questions about what the expectations and needs are, and as she is a mother herself she also has a lot of her own experience and wisdom which she brings to her work with children. Elsa helped teach our daughter important social skills and basic life skills for a toddler -- such as how to introduce yourself to new friends at a playground, sharing toys and playing collaboratively with other toddlers, and simple manners such as saying please and thank you, greeting people and saying goodbye, how to ask for help, how to regulate big emotions... Elsa was taking care of our daughter 5 days a week, and her commitment to these early developmental and communications skills made a huge impact in our daughter's and our family's life. Elsa's compassion, expertise in childcare, and overall exceptional attention to our daughter and her work make her, in my eyes, the best nanny ever. I cannot recommend her highly enough! Any parent who entrusts their child in her care will benefit greatly from Elsa's talent, childcare skills, and generosity of heart.
