About Emily

I have a certificate to teach English as a Foreign Language from tefl. org (certificate and validation available upon request). I have a bachelor's degree in Japanese and have worked in a Japanese immersion preschool in Portland. My direct tutoring experience is limited, but I am a born teacher and I'm passionate about English as a foreign language, English Language arts, and Japanese. For young learners (elementary and younger) I will be able to tutor any subject - for more advanced/specialized subjects, please contact me. I took up to Calculus II and have had a fair bit of chemistry and biology, as well as world history, US history, European hisotry, and East Asian history. I would be happy to discuss any of these subjects, or others. I am a quick learner, and I'm a fan of not just teaching the material but teaching how to learn. I hope you'll consider me as a tutor!
